              whipped cream valve

Back in the 1940s, Aaron "Bunny" Lapin, a St. Louis entrepreneur, developed the idea of packaging real whipped cream in an aerosol container to extend its shelf life. The product was introduced under the brand name Reddi-wip® and Lapin became the first president of Reddi-Wip, Inc., founding Clayton Corporation as a separate company to manufacture valves for the new product.

Over the years Clayton Corporation has grown to become a major producer of aerosol valves for a variety of markets including food, dairy, personal care, hardware and industrial building materials. We've also added a plastic injection molding unit that produces caps and other small parts used in the aerosol industry. Following the innovative approach instilled by Lapin, Clayton has received numerous patents for component designs.

Today the company continues to grow under the direction of Lapin's son, Byron. Serving clients around the world, Clayton Corporation strives to uphold the spirit of quality and innovation that has been its hallmark for more than 60 years.

*Reddi-wip® is now a registered trademark of ConAgra Foods.
